In the "old" days when families worked on the farm together as a family, there weren't near the number of divorces as we see today. Why? Families worked toward the same goal, growing crops to eat and working on their farms, and didn't necessarily have the social and financial influences they have today.
Debt also imposes a huge strain on marital relationships, as well as having children. When both parents work outside the home and each of them are going in different directions i.e., work - school - kids to school and activities - bills - house chores - all lead to resentment, stress and hence family problems.
I truly believe that if two grown individuals cannot get along then they should not stay together. I personally do not think that staying together for "the sake of marriage" or for the children is a reason to stay in a relationship. Children, even young children, understand and can sense tension between unhappy parents. Further, a couple cannot stay in a healthy relationship if they are staying together for the marriage or kids.
Divorce is complex. A great deal of consideration must be given to the best interest of the children, child support and visitation, dividing all real and personal property, alimony considerations for long term marriages, and a wealth of other issues.
I am a solo practitioner, and therefore take the time to consider your individual needs. I do not utilize "associates" who will interview you and work on your case. I have a highly trained legal assistant who works with me on each and every case. I try to give one-on-one legal advice and assistance to all of my clients without the need to over bill the file.
Oh Yea, I also have one other trained professional who assists me in the event you are upset and need comforting. He is always at work with me and prepared to make you feel at home in my office. My dog’s name is TJ. MY CLIENTS LOVE HIM!
